The AfricaConnect project aims to establish a high-capacity Internet network for research and education in Southern and Eastern Africa to provide the region with a gateway to global research collaboration. AfricaConnect seeks to address the findings of the FEAST Study and the objectives and priorities of the ACP Connect Programme, to contribute to the modernisation and development of education and research in Sub-Saharan countries. The AfricaConnect project is coordinated by DANTE (Delivery of Advanced Network Technology to Europe) and partnered by the UbuntuNet Alliance, representing the NRENs of East and Southern Africa. The Center for African Education teaches and does research in educational issues in Africa. You will find information on studies and research as well as ressources concerning that topic. Among others, you will find information and ressources on the "Teachers For East Africa and Teachers Education in East Africa" programme, initiated under Kennedy in the 60s to promote teachers' training in Esat Africa.
